Two months into the year, but this months winner is a Crossfit Paradox OG. Please join me in congratulating Alicia on being February’s Paradox Member of the month!
She has been a loyal member for a very long time, but that is not why she was selected. Not only does Alicia give it all in every workout, but she always takes the time to help and motivate others. She was also the first person to step up to the plate for 2017 Crossfit Open Show Down.
Here is Alicia killing it during 17.1…oh yeah, and she finished it…
– Age – 38 and feeling great!

When did you start Crossfit and Why? In 2012 I was really into Spartan races. I had the running part but I needed to get stronger. CrossFit seemed like the best way to train for those races, I fell in love and the rest is history.
What is one type of movement you love? Cleans!
Any goals you have set for 2017? My goals in CrossFit are to get better at HSPU and continue working on handstand walks until I can go across the gym. My goals in life is to learn to water ski and how to build and start a fire with a bow drill.
Tell us one fun fact about you? I am not fun.
How has Crossfit helped you in sports/physical activity/Life? Sure, CrossFit has made me stronger, faster, and better distance runner, but more importantly, I have learned to be comfortable being uncomfortable, I learned confidence and humility, that my mind wants to give up long before my body does, fear can be healthy. Steve and I built a retaining wall last year. It took us two days, lots of digging and hauling lumber, and hammering rebar. We never would have taken on that project before or been able to execute it.
If you were left on a desert island. What one food and thing (book, music player phone etc..) would you want to be left? I really hope there is fruit already on the island. Can I bring Steve and a machete?
