Jason and Leslie Fugitt
So, who exactly are Jason and Leslie. Aside from dropping 5K’s without breaking a sweat, below are a few questions to help you get to know them.
Oh and yes, their 5K performance is in question, so they will be required to go through extensive drug testing
1 – How long have you been with Crossfit Paradox?
Leslie: I started with a Groupon in October 2013.
Jason: Been coming for 9 months, last October
2 – How many times a week do you come in?
Leslie: I’m on the 3 day/week plan but hope to move up to unlimited when life (hopefully) calms down.
Jason: Attend 3 days a week normally.
3 – How has Crossfit helped you with your training?
Leslie: Well obviously as you mentioned, CrossFit has helped me get under that elusive 8 min/mile 5K. But I’ve finally lost some weight after struggling for a year. And I can finally do a couple strict pullups! For me, having upper body strength is a huge confidence boost as a female.
Jason: Crossfit has given me a good routine and helped me stay
motivated throughout the week to eat right and stay active. I had not
been able to stay with any exercise routine in the past 12 years till
now. I’ve never been a runner but when I started crossfit I wasn’t able to run a full mile, but 8 months into doing crossfit I was able to run a full 5k with an 8:16 mile pace.
4 – Where are you from?
Leslie: Middleburg Heights, OH (suburb of Cleveland)
Jason: We both grew up on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. Move
to Chicagoland almost 3 years ago.
5 – Aside from Crossfit, what else do you like to do on your free time?
Leslie: I really enjoy hiking and anything that involves wildlife viewing and nature. I love baking (the full butter/full fat kind…shhh), and also discovering craft beer wherever I go.
Jason: Outdoor activities, Watch Sports (Football, Hockey)
6 – What is your favorite movement/workout?
Leslie: I like any workout with pullups now that I can do them. I also like the Power Clean – for some reason that is always a movement that has given me confidence, and I use it to track my form improvement for anything that uses the hip thrust.
Jason: Murph was a good workout.
7 – What do you like most about Crossfit?
Leslie: I love that this is the strongest I’ve ever been. CrossFit is a great way to make full-body strength and cardio endurance gains. I’ve seen huge improvements in both. But it is also a great community of which I am happy to be a part! I really look forward every day, not just to the workouts, but also to seeing everyone! I appreciate that the group celebrates your successes and gives you a pep talk when you’re in a plateau. I am so happy we went for that Groupon at CrossFit Paradox!
Jason: What I like about crossfit is the variety of the WOD.
Even if there might be a lot of something you despise, rowing, you feel great after it is done. Although Crossfit Paradox has to be the best part of crossfit for me. Everyone there is there to help push each other better themselves and our trainers are nothing like what you hear from people who talk crap of crossfit. Form is stressed over doing more weight and they are great with working with modifying the workout if need
