This month, we are doing a little bit different. We are highlighting one of our awesome coaches, Stephanie Welch. Stephanie started off killing it as a member and has now been a great coach dropping knowledge bombs on everyone.
Here she is after getting into a fight with the chalk bucket…
– Age – 27
– Occupation – Bartender at Vistro in Hinsdale….feel free to come visit me, I make great cocktails!
– Been doing Crossfit for: 5 years
Why do you like coaching? I like coaching for many reasons but mainly because I get to meet some amazing and inspiring people. I love watching each individual grow as an athlete. Being able the witness the excitement they get in achieving their goals is such a great feeling.
When did you start Crossfit and Why? I started Crossft about 5 years ago. I was attempting to do wods at the fitness center I belonged to. Then I stumbled upon a Groupon for Crossfit paradox. I’ve been a member here since June 2013.
What is one type of movement you hate and love? The one movement I absolutely hate would be Thrusters and I love pull-ups & Muscle ups (on days I’m good at them)
Any goals you have set for 2017? Stop shifting my hips when I squat! Be able to handstand walk more than 6 feet. Be stronger then I was yesterday!
Tell us one fun fact about you? I absolutely love turtles! TMNT power!!
How has Crossfit helped you in sports/physical fitness/Health/Life? Believe it or not I was a weakling before I started crossfit, I could barley do a push-up or even squat with a bar. Crossfit has improved all aspects of my physical fitness from strength and endurance to my attitude and outlook on life. It’s definitely a humbling sport!
If you were left on a desert island. What’s one food and thing( book, music player, phone etc..) would you want to be left with? My dog Zia and this is so hard…but probably either cinnamon rolls or pizza (deep dish, butter crust, Lou Malnati’s)
